PANIC is pleased to announce the second of several new resources for the department. HOSTNAME: login2.physics.unc.edu HARDWARE: IBM Thinkcentre (x86) OS: RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 login2 is a general-use public login node and any academic or research task is appropriate on it--including everyday use such as pine, firefox, tex, etc. However if your job is intensive or will run for a long period of time, please use one of the compute nodes, such as the just announced compute1, instead.
