In order to ensure that all new hardware purchased will work within the Departmental infrastructure, PANIC requests that users confer with PANIC prior to purchasing new systems. Not only does this ensure that the system will work for the intended purpose, but often we are aware of new technologies and trends and can provide advice about hardware/OS compatibility and spec a system for a particular use or to fit within a particular budget.

It is the expectation of PANIC and the Department Administration that "all new computers brought into the department will be set up by PANIC."
