PANIC is glad to be able to offer this new backup service to any Physics user with a PANIC-setup Windows laptop.

This backup service allows you to regularly save a copy of any important data stored in C:\BackMeUp to a secure server. The advantages of this over our old backup program BASK, or over doing your own backups, include:

• Backups are performed on-demand. Perform one as often or as seldom as you like.
• Files are stored on a secure server, physically separate from your laptop.
• It's significantly faster than BASK.
• It's faster than some USB hard disks!
• It features a GUI which shows backup progress.
• The ability to do backups from anywhere with a network connection (no longer limited to on-campus).
• Each backup is archived and 30+ backups are kept. This allows retrieval of multiple versions of files that may change often.
• Friendly email reminders if a backup has not been performed recently.
